I called Netgear after my cable service suggested my router might be an issue and suggested I call them.Little did I know that I would be transferred to a call center in India, trying to strong arm me into buying a "protection plan".
They insisted they had to take control of my computer to diagnose and that they needed a credit card in case I decided to purchase a support plan afterwards. Like a dummy I went along with it. TWO HOURS on the phone. After the "support" the guy turned into an argumentative salesman.
I refused to purchase the support plan, and told him in no uncertain terms that I was not authorizing any charges, but they charged my credit card anyway, once with a $1 fishing amount and then with $151.00.Now I've had to cancel the credit card, and I will NEVER purchase Netgear again.
