Customer support -

Cox transferred me to Netgear support. The support line has a number of automated steps. Each one requires selecting an option. It took 4 to 5 attempts on each step for the system to accept my response.if

Terrible customer service

Ordered a $200.00 router, only to find it defective. Customer service started the RMA process, but at the end of the process I am told I have to ship my defective router in and wait for a new one. I work from home, this is a terrible customer service policy. I bought this router because Netgear is supposed to be the best, but apparently they expect you to be out of work while they process their broken equipment. Oh, and if you want it sooner, you can pay for overnight shipping. It's not enough that I paid hundreds for your product, but you make me make me pay more to get it fixed. I will be selling this router on and going with a different manufacturer. Netgear lost a customer today. *** GUYS

Tech support

I will never buy Netgear product again. When you call the customer service number, you are transferred to a call center that's located outside of the U.S. In my experience, the multiple representatives that I spoke with had strong accents and didn't fully comprehend English. They can speak the language but don't comprehend or have empathy/

Bad service

Purchased a router for $187. Three months later it mysteriously had to be reconfigured. Netgear wanted $120 for yearly service contract to fix issue. Happened right at 90 day warranty expiration. Total scam of a company. Ill spread word to family and colleagues alike. Shame on netgear

Throttle service to get customer service $

Everytime you contact netgear they want money and not just a little. They send no user manuals. They make things hard to figure out so they can charge you 100's of dollars more to get basic help. I threw mine away and purchased Asus. They have real customer service.

Still waiting for a reply

I'm following up on a previous email to which I've received no response. I have a Nighthawk R6700v3 router that is less than 2 years old. It has recently started dropping the Internet connection and rebooting. This can randomly happen several times a day, occasionally several time an hour. I have confirmed that the issue is not with my ISP. I have the latest firmware. I have performed a factory reset. I'm still having the issue. Do you have have any recommendations before you lose me as a customer and I replace this router with another brand?

User's recommendation: After several automated emails from customer service, I was finally able to set up a telephone appointment with a customer service agent. But he called outside of my established window of availability and ended up speaking to my wife since I was at work. The agent then simply had my wife repeat everything I had already done (several times) and then told her if this didn't work, we'd have to replace the router. Surprise, it didn't work, so I'm replacing the router, but NOT with another Netgear.

My cable company Xfinity asked me to call Netgear to open up the porch to where I can have my surveillance camera online.

The representative had a strong accent and it made it very difficult for me to understand him as well as he was talking fast. He was not patient at all with me and eventually he hung up the phone on me and never called back deliberately hung up the phone on me and never called back.

User's recommendation: You guys need to get better English-speaking representatives it makes it very difficult for both sides it is very frustrating while trying to resolve your issue.

Problem installing netgear router

Honestly, I figured most of it out myself. Im very disappointed because I feel something is wrong as the new modem is running no better than the old modem. For the hundreds of dollars I spent, I feel my internet should be running better. My internet provider suggested a new modem due to all the devices being used. Either its not hooked up correctly (thanks to no help from netgear) or the product is not all the hype. Sincerely, Disappointed

Firmware update crashed my router

Netgear sent a new firmware update for my 6900v2 Nighthawk router. I installed it like it said and when it rebooted it won't turn on. Netgear wants me to pay them to fix the router their firmware update screwed up.

Connecting my fire stick.

Connection to phone and iPad works great but cant get my fire stick to connect. Tried new fire stick and verified 3x with Xfinity if it was on their end. They said its probably with the router. I reset the router and restarted but same problem. I cant get streaming service which is a problem.
