My mesh wifi has been on the blink around 6 months then it started glitching, try to get support only to find out they want to charge you for that..I think all the products do this so they can make more money, I feel we should file a class action lawsuit against this company

Horrible customer support

I was having slow connectivity issues on my pc due to a damaged ethernet cable. i had recently changed it out so i took that into account when i started complaining, thinking it could be a firewall issue since i had the exact same issue 2 months prior.

(couldnt find out the root cause as i reset my modem and router and that seemed to solve the issue as well as change the cable) Called netgear and they charged me $160 to diagnose my issue and fix it with what im assuming is a fake return policy as they have many workarounds so they can at least take fee's out of the money they return. The guy who was handling my situation's most helpful contribution to resolving it was changing the channels on my router and running speed tests. Apart from that he kept blaming my isp to the point where he was even recommending me new isp's saying my issues where all on them (which they werent) so anyway i went down a loophole of contacting both sides and them shifting the blame so i was left to figure it out on my own. turns out it was a damaged ethernet cable which i swapped out and fixed my issue.

After this i reached back out to netgear to get a refund. On my router logs it kept saying there was a dos attack which i thought actually meant something (it did not) basically those "dos attacks" are 99% false positives and will pop up from websites like facebook and youtube. I brought that up to the technician who was handling my situation and he was very dodgy and deflected every single time i asked him about that which later lead me to believe he knew and didnt want to tell me because he thought i was too stupid to figure it out on my own. Moving on i got on the phone with netgear about my refund and the guy on the other end starts telling me about some technician charge of $80 that they're going to take out of the total.

Im quite frustrated at this point because it doesnt make any sense to me.

The guy on the phone is telling me that they upgraded my firewall and cleaned up my network, claiming that i was recieving slow speeds which i wasnt as i had run multiple speed tests wirelessly and those devices got the speeds they were supposed to. Now im left with an $80 loss and wish i could give this review less than a 1 star.

So I purchased a Orbi back in November not even 5 months later it stopped working, I cant return it where i purchased it from due to store 90 day period. So I called Netgear customer support unaware that this company makes you buy a contract to get customer support.

You have to pay to even text them online, not only that they make you pay for your own shipping if their product is defective you're responsible to ship it to them..

The customer service agent made me download old firmware for my orbi and now it doesn't work or show up at all. I was so frustrated with the lack of help this company was giving me I purchased another company product.

I WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER NETGEAR PRODUCT AND NEITHER SHOULD YOU BEWARE FUTURE BUYERS.

Bad product with worse support

I purchased $600 Nighthawk router from Best Buy. The product worked fine for 6 months and started giving trouble. I factory reset it twice and Best Buy said I need to deal with the manufacturer since it passed the 90-day period. They charged me $99 for the annual support and 10 minutes after I made the payment, the router stopped working. I got on the call with the support team and spent 3 hours troubleshooting and after spending so much time, they still refused to provide a replacement. Nighthawk routers are a piece of crap that no one should ever buy.

Stole My Money

I placed an order from the Netgear site for a mobile hotspot device. I got a confirmation email saying my order was processed, then 1 minute later got another email saying my order could not be completed. But the charge was taken from my bank account. Called support and had so many issues getting through to someone. When i finally did, they couldn't give me a reason why my order couldn't be completed. Said the funds may take 10 days to be refunded to me. This is FRAUD. I will be disputing the charge with my bank.

I paid $30.03 through my app for security on my Orbi router. Then the charges started 89.99, 6 times now. The support person said it would be removed but then more gets added. Why would I want security from this company?? Horrible they can do this. My checking account is overdrawn now thanks to their theft.

They are currently saying that number I called waz not an official netgear customer support, but the pulled up my information from my serial # on back of the router. They could have only gotten that information from netgear registration

You have the rudest customer support. I called with question and he accused me wanting to get something for free. He kept suggesting problems that it couldnt be. Like i needed to get your virus and malware protection, when i already have that provide through my spectrum account. Can't sign in with netgear

Cant get help and no matter what I do I cant sign in. I dont seem to exist in their system. The wizard is essential useless and I cant sign in with the wizard either. I even tried to create an account again but was told that the account (my account that they say doesnt exist) already exists. Really, what kind of crap is this?

Some of us are not glued to computers or tablet or phones and prefer email, especially because it is in writing rather than a customer service rep who may or may not properly answer your question.

I just spent 40+ minutes on the phone setting up my Nighthawk modem/router. Then I spent 35 minutes waiting to connect with technical for help that Xfinitiy couldn't assist. Apparently my firmware wouldn't update. I finally heard a man's voice and asked him to repeat his name, and he hung up. This is not the way to conduct business. I'd think that Netgear would have the ability to do a call back instead of having someone wait on the phone.
